It seems some of the AI problems that have dogged Aliens: Colonial Marines since its 2013 release were the result of a single typo in an INI file. Sadly, fixing a few typos isn’t enough to liven up the game’s utilitarian vending machines.

This is the first entry of its kind for the Video Game Soda Machine Project: a pair of soda machines from Persona 4’s “Lucky Me!” PlayStation trophy image. The trophy is unlocked when one of the game’s vending machines dispenses a free drink at random.

I tried to come up with a decent coffee filter/Syphon Filter joke to accompany these vending machines from Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain for the PS2, but I came up empty. I guess you’ll just have to settle for the screenshot.
Here’s another vending machine from later in the game, but it’s a little difficult to tell whether it’s selling soda or cigarettes.

This vending machine appeared in Red Bull’s House of Skate area for the PlayStation Home platform. Input the correct button sequence, and win in-game Red Bull swag!
PlayStation Home’s Namco Arcade Center was also outfitted with an interactive soda machine — situated in a prime spot right next to Pac-Man, no less!

It’s hard to tell for certain whether this vending machine from 007: NightFire for the Game Boy Advance dispenses sodas, but then again, it’s hard to tell much about anything in this game.
