Cars 2: The Video Game

These Nitroade vending machines from Cars 2: The Video Game raise so many questions. For instance, when a car “drinks” a “hi-energy” sports beverage, is it consumed via the car’s front bumper mouth, or is it poured directly into the gas tank? Also, why are the vending machines so tall?

Ryu ga Gotoku 1&2 HD Edition

Before Sega remade the first two Yakuza games as Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2, they released a remastered compilation of both entries for the PS3 and Wii U under the title Ryu ga Gotoku 1&2 HD Edition. Needless to say, the soda machines received a fresh coat of paint.

The Hex

Everything in The Hex is a meta commentary on video games, so maybe the inclusion of a soda machine is an intentional nod to their ubiquity in the medium. I’m not sure if that explains this semi-transparent ghost soda machine, though…
